Homecoming is a special week each fall for the current student body and all alumni of Western Christian. The Student Council works early in the school year to make it a fun and memorable week for everyone. The week is selected to coordinate with many extra-curricular activities, culminating with a Home football game on Friday night. Alumni are invited as special guests to this football game, often with opportunities for Western graduates to meet and greet one another at the half-time of that game, or at other activities during the week.
A special Homecoming Chapel also takes place during that week. A Western alumnus is invited to speak on the theme verse selected by the Student Council. Other alumni are included as musical special numbers during that chapel. Other activities for the week include special dress-up days for the current students of Western Christian—including a school spirit day followed by a rousing Pep Rally in the afternoon. The Flag and PowderPuff Football games have also become a Homecoming Week Highlight. Students (and able-bodied faculty members) are encouraged to form teams for this competition. Participants and spectators thoroughly enjoy this time of community building at Western.
Finally, the senior class nominates 12 representatives to be Homecoming Representatives. The seniors are encouraged to nominate students who have the reputation of leading a Christian lifestyle, as well possessing leadership ability and skills. The Western student body then votes on one senior boy and one senior girl to represent Western Christian High School. These names are announced after all 12 representatives have been introduced before the Homecoming Football Game.
