Mya Brands - Speech All-State Festival
Mya Brands, a senior, was nominated to show her film at the Speech All-State Festival!
Sixteen short films from fifteen different schools in Iowa were nominated at the State Speech Festival to present their films. Mya was nominated to show her short film, "Lonely" in Ames, IA! In Mya's film, it ends with a quote: "I feel like I'm drowning while everyone else around me is breathing normally." This sums up Mya's film well.

Founded in 1919, Western Academy began as a four-year academic community accommodating grades 9-12. Renamed in the 1930s to Western Christian High School, the mission and values remain the same.
