SCHEDULE: Odd Block Schedule

Today is National Day of Prayer-We are called to pray every day, but this day is one that our country recognizes as a day to call on God on behalf of our country and its leaders.

 

GENERAL: 

- Students interested in serving on Student Council for the 2026–27 school year are invited to attend an informational meeting in the HUB on Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 PM.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Hailey Ammons by email at Hailey.Ammons@westernchristianhs.com or connect with her at school.

- We have several families already willing to host a Dutch student, but we really need more homes for male students. This is for three weeks starting around the end of September. Those who host will have the opportunity (not required) to go to the Netherlands in March 2027. Please contact carey.vandonselaar@wetsrenchristianhs.com if you are interested.

- For chapel today, go right the the EC.  It’s our Spring Celebration. Sit with your Faithpack, but be ready to be gracious if our seats fill up with guests as well.  Faithpacks will not meet today.

- Interested in a trip to Washington D.C. over spring break 2027? Plan to come (with a parent) to an informational meeting on Tuesday May 12 at 7 pm in the HUB. Questions? Talk to Mr Broersma or Miss Bierma!

- To all those who helped out with the Hull Pack a Sack meal program-this is from Marsha Kelderman, “What an awesome group of kids from Western who came and helped on Wednesday morning.  Thank you so much for sending them over!”

ACADEMIC REGISTRAR:

- Students who have completed online course registrations for NCC courses or submitted a Dordt approval form need to check their email. Some of you have items to take care of prior to your registration being processed. Take care of this ASAP.

 

COLLEGE ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

- Billie Steufert, Dordt Academic and Career Advisor of Online Programs will be here over lunch tomorrow.

 

AG/FFA:

- Students who need a ride to Thunder Road on Friday will depart from the front of the school at 5:45 PM. Please complete the RSVP form if you have not already done so.

- If you are missing pins or received the wrong pin, please fill out the Google Form that was sent out.

ATHLETICS:

- The boys' golf home meet starts at 2:00 today. Please dismiss golfers at 1:15. 

- Girls' golf is at Cherokee today. Please dismiss at 1:45, van leaves at 2:00. 

- Girls' soccer is at Spirit Lake tonight. The game will be played at Okoboji High School. The bus leaves at 4:00. Varsity will play first at 5:45 with JV to follow at 7:00.  

- The boys' soccer team plays at home tonight vs Sioux City West. JV game starts at 4:30. 

- Girls and boys track and field are at West Sioux tonight. Please dismiss at 2:45; vans will leave at 3:00.
