    SCHEDULE: Odd Block Schedule
     
    GENERAL: 
    - While the big gym is being set up for Prom, we ask that students please stay out of that area during breaks. Thanks for your cooperation!
    - Juniors & Seniors: Get excited for after prom! Plan on a fun evening of glow in the dark dodgeball, Mario kart, human foosball, testing your music skills, pickle ball and more! Dress comfy and wear your tennis shoes! 
    - Look for posters at after prom to see the full list of activities!
    - Juniors & Seniors: Please be checked into after prom by 10:15pm or your parents will be notified.
    - SENIORS: The following still need to complete the Strums survey: Adyson B, Aralyn, Austin, Autumn, Caleb G, Chris, Easton, Ella B, Haley, Hannah, Izzy, Jackson, Kyler, Landon,  Matthew, Mia B, Olivia H, Teigen, Thalan. Check your email for the link to the survey.
    COLLEGE ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
    - SENIORS: If you have not filled out the 2026 Graduate Future Plans google form sent by Mrs. deBoom, please do so ASAP: Aralyn, Autumn, Caleb G, Jasmine, Landon, Logan, Matthew, Mia B, Sawyer, Thalan. Check your email for the link to the survey.
     
    SCHOLARSHIPS:
    - Seniors pursuing skilled trades careers and will be furthering your education at community college or trade school, please see your email about a scholarship opportunity from Mrs. Khang. If you did not receive one and are planning to attend a community college specializing in skilled trades, please contact Mrs. Khang. Deadline to apply is Monday, May 4th. 
    Job Shadow Opportunity
    - Juniors & Seniors: Check google classrooms for Junior Firefighter Program opportunity in Sioux Center.
     
    AG/FFA:
    - Western Christian FFA Banquet is at 6 pm on May 5 in the EC. All FFA members need to be there at 5:45.  
     
    ATHLETICS:
    - Girls' and boys' soccer compete against Sioux Center tonight. The girls are home, and the boys are at Sioux Center on Dordt University's grass fields. The bus leaves at 4:00. JV girls start at 4:30, with the varsity to follow; JV boys start at 5:00, with the varsity to follow. 
    - Girls and boys track are home today for a meet hosted by BHRV. Field events and running start at 4:30.
    - Cheer tryouts will be on May 9 from 9–11 AM in the EC. Please contact Shondra Wielenga if interested at shondrawielenga@gmail.com or 712-470-2489.

    - Beginning tomorrow, construction will start on Division Street in Hull. The road will be closed to through traffic during this time. If you normally use Division Street to get to and from school, please plan an alternate route and allow yourself extra time for travel.
    - Let’s make this final year the best! We need host families for Dutch male students who want an opportunity to come to Iowa. Yes, they really do! Would you be able to host for just three weeks? Contact carey.vandonselaar@westernchristianhs.com

    GENERAL:
    - Beginning this Thursday, construction will start on Division Street in Hull. The road will be closed to through traffic during this time. If you normally use Division Street to get to and from school, please plan an alternate route and allow yourself extra time for travel.
    - Is your family ready to host for three weeks this fall? Let’s make this final year the best! There are several Dutch students who want to come to Iowa. Yes, right here. It would be ideal to have host families selected this summer. In order to do that, we need host families for girls but also boys. If you are selected to host, you will be eligible (if you choose) to take part in the exchange to the Netherlands next Spring. Contact carey.vandonselaar@westernchrisianhs.com. *This is the last year for the exchange with Greijdanus as they are ending their program. While we continue to work on opportunities at other schools, it is possible that any future exchange will not be with a school in the Netherlands.
    ATHLETICS:
    - Girls' and boys' golf are at Emmetsburg tonight. Please dismiss at 1:30, vans leave at 1:45.
    - Varsity girls' and boys' soccer play at home tonight vs. Spirit Lake. The seniors will be recognized on both teams in between games at 5:45. Games are at 4:30 and 6:00.
