    –Chamber Singers get on the bus at the beginning of 5th period.

    AG/FFA:
    -  Code of Conduct practice in the Ag room after school today. 

    ATHLETICS:
    - Varsity girls and boys basketball games at the Arena Classic. Varsity girls will play at 3:30, with boys to follow.  Girls should be dismissed at 12:45 and boys @ 1:30.

    GENERAL:
    -CTE Students:  Reflection papers and work schedules are due tomorrow!  Please talk to Mr. D if you have any questions.
    - Large Group Speech will meet today after school in the HUB. A survey for Individual Speech was posted on Classroom. Please complete it so we can assign categories over break. Interested in Speech but didn’t sign up? Contact Miss Bierma or Ms. Jeltema to sign up before the break! 

    ATHLETICS:
    -The wrestling teams will compete at Emmetsburg for a dual. Please dismiss from class at 2:45. Wrestling begins at 6.
    -The basketball teams are at Heelan for a G/B double-header. The JV teams play at 4:00, JVR Boys at 5:15, varsity girls at 5:45, with the varsity boys to follow. Please dismiss the JV teams at 1:45 p.m. and the varsity teams at 3:00 p.m.

    GENERAL:
    -CTE Students:  Reflection papers and work schedules are due by Friday, December 19.  Please talk to Mr. D if you have any questions.
    -Reminder that 3rd and 5th block is switched today. You will go to 5th block next, followed by 3rd/your normal lunch rotation. Schedule is listed below: 
    -Inventory reduction sale at the Snack Shack until further notice. We are getting rid of our inventory at 50 % off. All proceeds from the Snack Shack are allocated to local nonprofit organizations. 
    --Concert choir: get on the bus at the beginning of 3rd period.
    –No women’s chorus practice tomorrow.
    -Here’s another thank-you in reference to the cards some of you wrote--these cards went all the way to Washington state! “My mom received the Christmas cards yesterday and was delighted to read all the thoughtful and sweet messages. My sisters, who visit her daily also saw the messages and were moved to tears by them. It was so special that mom received these messages from teachers and students from Western Christian. Have a wonderful Christmas!”

    GENERAL:
    -VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER: We will be starting school at 8:30am (NOT 9:30 am) on Wednesday and dismissing at 2:30 pm for Dave Kooima’s funeral. You MUST be on time for your 1st period block. The 3rd and 5th blocks will also be switched to accommodate a reasonable lunch hour. Buses will run at 2:30 pm.
    -There is no academic intervention this week
    -Power Hour emails went out over the weekend from Mrs. Wilson. Please check whether you are assigned.
    - Lost and found items in the west hallway of the gym are going to be disposed of or brought to Bargain Alley over Christmas break.  Please check to see if any of the articles are yours!   
    -Mr. Lewison’s Faithpack is assigned to service cleanup after tonight's basketball game. Thank you, Lewison Faithpack!

    - The meeting to go over more details about our Ireland trip will be tonight at 5:30 in the Ag Room. If you have RSVP’d pizza will be arriving at the beginning of the meeting for come hungry. If you still have not RVSP’d please do so I have a good guess on all those attending. 

    ATHLETICS:
    - Home basketball games vs Spirit Lake tonight. JVR games begin at 3::45, JV games @ 4:45. Varsity Girls and Boys to follow.  Please clean out the east locker lockers after school.

    - Mr. Lewison’s Faithpack is assigned service clean-up after the basketball game next Tuesday night, December 16.

    - If you have feedback or interest in service-oriented trips to another country, see Carey Van Donselaar during morning break, 1st or 2nd periods in the Learn Lab.
    -Be sure to review the exam information that was emailed to you on Wednesday. Things will look a bit different this year, so please be sure you are aware of the details!
    - Senior shirts are here! If you ordered one, stop in Miss Bierma’s room during morning or afternoon break to pick it up. 
    -The thank-yous for your Christmas cards keep coming in--here’s another one: “How can I  say ‘Thank You’  to Western students for the JOY that I found in my mailbox this morning? I was overwhelmed!!  "It was so fun to read all the cheerful messages. I pray for God‘s blessing on every one of you at Western Christian”

    - Have you taken a look at your second-semester schedule? Email any change requests to Mrs. de Boom. Be aware that several sections are already full.
    - Are you interested in taking the CNA class in the spring? We will need at least 7 students to hold the class at Western. Contact Mrs. de Boom if interested.
